Kawaiahao Church was designed by U.S. Christian Missionary Reverend Hiram Bingham and built together with native Hawaiians in 1842. It was here that the values of moral religious, civic progress and safer freedoms of elective representative democracy were instilled in native Hawaiians through the teachings of Reverend Bingham. This church was the primary place where U.S. missionaries, Alii Christians and commoners interacted, including church committee meetings with congregational equal voting rights since 1840. A relevant policy balance with a multiplicity of perspectives.
